October 3 - October 7

Physical Education:   Football Unit - Students will continue practicing the basic skills associated with football such as throwing, catching, kicking, and running through group activities.  Also, students will take part in small-sided football games such as 2-hand touch football, ultimate football, and punt & go football. 

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be learning about and analyzing the body systems of the human body.  Also, they will begin learning about the male & female reproductive systems which will serve as an introduction to the sexual education unit.

September 26 - September 30

Health:  - Students will be learning about mental health disorders associated with teenagers.  They will be completing a mini-project with a partner related mental health disorders which will be graded.  Also, studetns will start learning about body systems of the human body.

September 19 - September 23

PE:   Students will be completing the first unit in cardiovascular fitness.  Students will be asked to do a minimum of 4 laps each day and will be officially timed in the 1 Mile on the last day of the unit.  On Wednesday, September 21, we will be starting our football unit.  To start, students will be taught the basic cues for throwing and receiving a football.  They will practice the skills through activities during class.

Health:  - Students will be discussing and learning about issues dealing with bullying.  Also, students will be taking their first exam on the material from Chapter 1 which is worth 85 points.  Students will aslo start learing about mental health disorders that are most common among high school students.

September 12 - September 16

PE:   Students will be continuing with the cardiovascular unit which involves walking, jogging, and running on the track.  Students will be building up their cardiovascular endurance by gradually increasing the amount of laps they jog/run each day.  Students will be asked to do a minimum of 4 laps each day and will be officially timed in the 1 Mile on the last day of the unit.   

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be starting and working on their writing prompts in class and in the library.  The writing prompt involves the health triangle which is a combination of physical, mental, and social health.  Students will be asked to identify weaknessess in each category and set goals with the hope of improving their flaws.  Rough and final drafts will be submitted for grading purposes and this will be the first major grade in the class.

September 5 - September 9

Monday, September 5 - Off for Labor Day

PE:   Students will be begin the cardiovascular unit which involves walking, jogging, and running on the track.  For the first few days of the unit, students will be doing a combination of walking and jogging with the hope of building long distance endurance.  Students will be asked to do a minimum of 4 laps each day and on the last day of the unit, they will be timed/graded on their 1 mile time. 

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be learning about the Health Triangle which is made up of Mental, Physical, and Social health.  Students will understand the importance of balancing the three sides of the health triangle in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Students will be taking notes, doing worksheets, and taking part in in-class activities that invovle the topics being discussed in class.
