December 1 - December 20

  Basketball/Volleyball/Badminton/Ping-Pong - Students will take part in various gym activities leading up to Christmas.  Students will have the choice to pick an activity they want to participate in, but they must stay busy and play appropriate.  After the holiday, students will take part in floor-hockey, weight-room, and badminton activities.

  Volleyball (Net Games Unit) - Students will take part in small sided volleyball activities that involve working corporately with classmates to improve volleyball game skills such as bumping, passing, serving, and spiking.  Students will also take part in small-sided volleyball games throughout the unit.  Also, other net games such as ping-pong and badminton may be offered as an alternative.  
** Dodge-ball may be offered as an alternative to net games on certain days to prepare students for the school's dodge-ball tournament.**

Complex Team Games - Soccer with football as an alternative

7th Grade (Health Unit) - Life Skills Training (LST)
The LST program is designed to help younger students make safer and healthier life decisions with an emphasis on drug & alcohol safety and goal setting.  Additionally, the LST program is designed to help younger students develop appropriately by using lessons that impact social, physical, and mental health areas.

Welcome Back! 
1st P.E. Unit of the 2013 - 2014 School Year - - - Cardiovascular Fitness (1 Mile Unit)


          Students will take part in lead up cardiovascular activities on the track such as walking, jogging, and running.  Students will also be timed in the 1 Mile jog/run (4 laps).  Times will be kept and extra credit may be given for outstanding times on the mile, but grades are based solely on effort.  All students are different and I do not expect everyone to be track stars.  Therefore, no set time will be given as a benchmark that students must meet.  Students will also take their heart rates and will be exposed to physical activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.

1st, 4th, and 5th Periods also 3rd ODD and 7th ODD,  - Dodge-ball unit leading up to Easter and TAT's Dodge-ball tournament.  Alternative activities such as yoga, weight-room, and badminton may be offered for students who do not want to take part in the dodge-ball games.  


2nd Period - Cooperative Team Activities in the Gymnasium such as Football, Soccer, Kick-ball and Dodge-Ball 

3rd and 7th Periods (EVEN DAYS) - Our 9th and 10th grade students will not have to change for P.E. class all week. They will be reporting to the auditorium for a depression presentation from the Wellness Health Education Center.  Depression is the leading undiagnosed illness amongst teens and only 30% of teens suffering from depression receive any type of treatment.  Therefore, we felt it would be beneficial to increase our students' awareness on the topic.  

** Students in the 3rd and 7th Period ODD Days will have the lecture on April 15, 17, and 19**
