September 12 - September 16

PE:   Students will be continuing with the cardiovascular unit which involves walking, jogging, and running on the track.  Students will be building up their cardiovascular endurance by gradually increasing the amount of laps they jog/run each day.  Students will be asked to do a minimum of 4 laps each day and will be officially timed in the 1 Mile on the last day of the unit.   

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be starting and working on their writing prompts in class and in the library.  The writing prompt involves the health triangle which is a combination of physical, mental, and social health.  Students will be asked to identify weaknessess in each category and set goals with the hope of improving their flaws.  Rough and final drafts will be submitted for grading purposes and this will be the first major grade in the class.

September 5 - September 9

Monday, September 5 - Off for Labor Day

PE:   Students will be begin the cardiovascular unit which involves walking, jogging, and running on the track.  For the first few days of the unit, students will be doing a combination of walking and jogging with the hope of building long distance endurance.  Students will be asked to do a minimum of 4 laps each day and on the last day of the unit, they will be timed/graded on their 1 mile time. 

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be learning about the Health Triangle which is made up of Mental, Physical, and Social health.  Students will understand the importance of balancing the three sides of the health triangle in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Students will be taking notes, doing worksheets, and taking part in in-class activities that invovle the topics being discussed in class.

August 29 - September 2

PE:  Students will be learn the rules, regulations, and expectations for Physical Education class.  Students will be given an assigned seat in the gymnasium where they will report for attendance at the beginning of each class.  Each student will be given a class expectation sheet that will be signed by every student and at least one parant.  Students will be begin the cardiovascular unit which involves walking, jogging, and running on the track.

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will learn the rules, regulations, and expectations for Health Class.  Seating charts will be assigned and we will begin discussing the Health Triangle which involves Mental, Social, and Physical Health.

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL.  HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!!!!

Health:  Students will be receiving their final grades and completing a health survey.


PE:   Students will be particpating in small-sided cooperative team games such as kick-ball, wiffle-ball, floor-hockey, lacrosse, and ultimate football/frisbee.  As long as the weather is nice, studetns will be going outside.

May 23 - May 27

Health:    Students will be watching "Philadelphia," an educational movie about the impact AIDS had on the American Society.  Also, students will complete a worksheet with questions related to the movie.  Students will also receive their final grades. 

PE:   Students will be particpating in small-sided cooperative team games such as kick-ball, wiffle-ball, floor-hockey, lacrosse, and ultimate football/frisbee.  As long as the weather is nice, class will be taking place outside for the rest of the year.

Health:    Studetns will be presenting their STD power-point projects to the rest of the class.  Students will also start watching "Philadelphia," an educational movie about AIDS.

PE:   Students will be particpating in small-sided cooperative team games such as kick-ball, wiffle-ball, floor-hockey, lacrosse, and ultimate football/frisbee.  As long as the weather is nice, class will be taking place outside for the rest of the year.

7th Period (ODD Days) - Students will be in the pool for swimming.

Health:    Monday - Students will be taking a quiz on the Male & Female Reproductive System vocbulary terms. 
               For the remainder of the week, students will be the library working on STD research projects.  The projects include a power-point and verbal presentation that will be graded on a scoring rubric. 

PE:   Students will be particpating in small-sided cooperative team games such as kick-ball, wiffle-ball, floor-hockey, lacrosse, and ultimate football/frisbee.  As long as the weather is nice, class will be taking place outside for the rest of the year.
