October 31 - November 4

Physical Education:   Students will be finishing their soccer unit by playing small sided soccer games and kick-ball games.  The first marking period will end on Tuesday, November 1 so students will be receiving report grades.

We will begin our Cardiovascular Fitness Unit which involves Dodgeball or Weight-Training.  Students will have the option and will not be forced to play dodgeball. 

 If students do not make up missed classes, they will receive zeros.

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will finish watching "Philadelphia," an educational movie on the impact AIDS had on the American Society and will also receive their final grades.
 
2nd Marking Period - Students will receive the rules and regulations for the class.  Also, students will receive the syllabus from the teacher and begin discussing the health triangle which invovles the combination of mental, social, and physical health.

October 24 - October 28

Physical Education:   Students will be continuing with their soccer unit.  Students will be practicing dribbling, stopping, and kicking a soccer ball through activities and small-sided soccer games. 


PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be presenting their STD Power-Point Projects to the rest of the class.  Students will be graded based on a 70 point scoring rubric.  Also, students start watching "Philadelphia," which is an educactional movie about the affect AIDS had on the American Society.

October 17 - October 21

Physical Education:   Students will be continuing with their soccer unit.  Students will be practicing dribbling, stopping, and kicking a soccer ball through activities and small-sided soccer games. 
PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be taking their second exam which consists of vocabulary terms associated with pregnancy and the Male/Female Reproductive systems.  Also, students will be working on their final project about STD's in the library.  Students will be working in pairs and creating a power-point presentation which will be presented to the rest of the class.

October 10 - October 14

Physical Education:   Monday & Tuesday - Students will be finishing the Football unit by playing small sided football games.
                                   Wednesday through Friday - Students will be starting their Soccer Unit.  Students will be practicing game skills for Soccer such as dribbling, stopping, and passing.  Also, students will be playing small-sided soccer games. 
PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be learning about sexuality education topics such as pregnancy, reproductive systems, and STD's.  Students will be taking notes on vocabulary terms and completing in class assignments.

October 3 - October 7

Physical Education:   Football Unit - Students will continue practicing the basic skills associated with football such as throwing, catching, kicking, and running through group activities.  Also, students will take part in small-sided football games such as 2-hand touch football, ultimate football, and punt & go football. 

PE GRADES ARE BASED ON PARTICIPATION.  SIMPLY JUST CHANGING YOUR CLOTHES DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU WILL BE RECEIVING FULL CREDIT!!!!!!!

Health:  - Students will be learning about and analyzing the body systems of the human body.  Also, they will begin learning about the male & female reproductive systems which will serve as an introduction to the sexual education unit.

September 26 - September 30

PE:   Football Unit - Students will be practicing the basic skills associated with football such as throwing, catching, kicking, and running through group activities.  Also, students will take part in small-sided football games such as 2-hand touch football, ultimate football, and punt & go football.

Health:  - Students will be learning about mental health disorders associated with teenagers.  They will be completing a mini-project with a partner related mental health disorders which will be graded.  Also, studetns will start learning about body systems of the human body.

September 19 - September 23

PE:   Students will be completing the first unit in cardiovascular fitness.  Students will be asked to do a minimum of 4 laps each day and will be officially timed in the 1 Mile on the last day of the unit.  On Wednesday, September 21, we will be starting our football unit.  To start, students will be taught the basic cues for throwing and receiving a football.  They will practice the skills through activities during class.

Health:  - Students will be discussing and learning about issues dealing with bullying.  Also, students will be taking their first exam on the material from Chapter 1 which is worth 85 points.  Students will aslo start learing about mental health disorders that are most common among high school students.
